Russia may export 4 mln tns of sour crude per year to Belarus
MOSCOW, Nov 13 (PRIME) – Russia has offered exports of up to 4 million tonnes of sour crude oil to refineries of Belarus per year, but the offer is yet to be discussed in detail, Deputy Energy Minister Kirill Molodtsov told reporters on Monday.
“Theoretically, they can (receive the oil)…We have not discussed it in detail, we are now looking at supplies to the refineries from the point of quality control,” he said when asked whether Moscow and Minsk have discussed Russian exports of additional 4 million tonnes of sour crude.
There are some quality conditions set for exports of Russian oil to Belarus, including the sulfur content. Now Russia transports oil with a sulfur content that is lower than the maximum allowed level, so the quality of exports will not be worse than allowed if Russia adds 4 million tonnes of sour crude, he said.
